Deep-Dive
This project focused on a redesign of the "front door" to the client portal: the login process and user registration flow. The primary goals were to implement two-factor-authentication, modernize the interface, streamline the user experience, and create a highly professional first impression for all clients.
No 2-Factor-Authentication
The login and registration flow currently lacks an essential security layer. By not requiring Two-Factor Authentication, user accounts are left vulnerable to unauthorized access, which can diminish user trust and expose sensitive data.
User Experience: Outdated & Inconsistent Design
The visual design and user interaction of the login and registration process do not align with contemporary usability standards. This outdated interface creates a jarring first impression, negatively impacts brand perception, and may lead to user friction or drop-offs.
As the lead UX/UI designer, I drove the end-to-end redesign of this critical user journey. My process was structured to address every friction point methodically.
Expand for details.
I began by mapping out the existing login and registration user flows to visually identify every step, friction point, and area of unnecessary complexity.
I researched the onboarding and login experiences of other leading financial and B2B platforms to establish benchmarks for modern, secure, and user-friendly design patterns.
I created low-fidelity wireframes that proposed new, streamlined flows for both registration and login. These were then developed into high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to test the new experience and get stakeholder feedback.
I focused on creating a clean, professional, and reassuring visual design that sticks to the Deutsche Börse brand identity.
I delivered a comprehensive design package with detailed specifications for all pages, components, and interaction states to ensure a smooth and accurate implementation.
The solution is a seamless, modern, and secure gateway that guides users effortlessly into the portal.
All input fields in the login and registration flow follow the same design and interaction principles.
I introduced a clean, focused login interface that supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). By modernizing the security posture and streamlining the UI, we ensured that the login process feels like a professional entry point rather than a technical hurdle.
To solve the drop-off issue, I broke the lengthy signup process into logical, bite-sized steps: Username > Verification > Password. This progressive disclosure makes the complex requirement feel manageable and less overwhelming for new users.
The recovery flow was redesigned to be a simple, guided process and followed the same mental model as the registration process.
Enhanced User Trust
The modern, professional design immediately builds user confidence and reinforces the security and credibility of the platform.
Reduced Onboarding Friction
The simplified and guided registration process is projected to increase completion rates and reduce user errors.
Improved User Satisfaction
A smooth and effortless "front door" experience removes a major source of initial frustration, starting the user's session on a positive note.
Strengthened Brand Image
The polished and professional gateway reinforces the Deutsche Börse brand as a modern and reliable industry leader.
